Test mode

Every product has two pairs of keys: for testing and for live. In test mode no mail reaches a real inbox.

The keys

Public keys (ni_pk_test_…, ni_pk_live_…) go in the browser, in the form and the script. Secret keys (ni_sk_test_…, ni_sk_live_…) belong on your server only. You see the secret ones exactly once when you create them, after that only their end.

What is different in test mode

  • Entries land in a list of their own and never mix with real ones.
  • Mails don't go out. You read them in the dashboard under “Test mails”, for seven days.
  • Webhooks in test mode only hear about test entries.
  • The pages show a notice on top that it is a test.

Going live

Swap both keys for the live keys, the public one in the form and the secret one on your server. Nothing else changes.
