Slack

Every sign-up as a short message in a Slack channel. No code, through an incoming webhook of Slack.

Setting up

  1. Create an app at api.slack.com/apps, turn on “Incoming Webhooks” and add a webhook for your channel.
  2. In the dashboard under “Webhooks”, pick the destination “Slack channel” and paste the address from Slack. It starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/.
  3. Choose the events, for example only “confirmed”.
  4. Send a test message from the delivery log.

The message

One sentence per event, in your product's language:

Tasselo · mira@example.com confirmed the address and is on the waitlist.

The message contains the email address. Anyone who knows the address of the Slack webhook can post to the channel, which is why the dashboard only shows its end.
